"last year (2009) i happened to drop by st jude church to say a little prayer. i was a skeptic, i did not believe much in novenas, but since i had noting else to do and prayer seeed to be the only thing to do inside the church anyway, i gave it a shot. I prayed to st jude for a change of heart, to believe even when i cannot measure the effects of his presence in my life. . . there were no bright lights, nor soft whispers, but i did believe there was a miracle that happened inside me with just one visit. I frequented coming to church more often and valued every mass celebration. this may sound too small a miracle but i do believe St Jude paved the wat for me to reconcile with ,myself and my God.
One very significant event though, helped me realize a lot about ,myself is through reading spiritual materials which were offered by religious sisters in blue. It encouraged me to search deep into my soul for answers even to trivial questions that disturb me. I bought two books and wanted to buy some more to give to my friends but unfortunately I have not seen them anymore. the logo of the book is Paulines, thats all I can remember. If I have been helped a lot I sure believe that other "skeptics" like me might be encouraged for a change of heart when they have access to good spiritual books.
Thank you St, Jude for enlightening me, now there is more meaning to the Mass for me. + angel" -

Matthew 5: 17 - 19 17 "Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. 18 For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
REFLECTION: To desire to be poor but not be inconvenienced by poverty, is to desire the honor of poverty and the convenience of riches.
-- St. Francis de Sales
- Matthew 5: 17 - 19
